Work Terms Lead to Employment & Job Creation

One of the most-asked questions our team receives from students and recent graduates during our Jobseeker Information Sessions is if a FIRST Jobs work term can lead to permanent employment, and the answer is a resounding “YES!” The Technology Alberta FIRST Jobs WIL Program has secured over 750 work placements, and many of those placements have gone on to become permanent positions for the job seekers who filled them. In fact 59% of those who took part in our FIRST Jobs program were employed full time within 90 days of the program.

In addition – Small-to-Medium-sized (SMB) Tech Companies often are always looking for talent, but don’t have the time or internal resources to fill that next position due to their smaller teams. As an industry organization focused on helping these companies grow – Technology Alberta through our business advisory strength and FIRST Jobs programs, provides them timely access to the talent they need, when they need it – as well as helps guide the new hires, through our weekly professional development certificate programs focused on the Tech SMB environment
