Hello Alberta Innovation Community!
These last few weeks have been filled with many Alberta-wide collaborative networking events and general fun:
– from the outstanding AgSmart 2024 session at Olds College last week
– to last Thursday’s Annual BBQ at the Edmonton Research Park
To this coming weeks’:
– Lakeland College‘s upcoming “Feast on the Farm“ on August 15, and
– over 100 farm-locations being featured across Alberta August 17-18 for Alberta Open Farms Days – Alberta’s geographically largest incubator for agri-tourism and rural sustainability..
We have also been able to add some ASTech Awards excitement throughout our travels – with the 2024 Finalists:
– in Agriculture-related Innovation announced by our ASTech Alumni panel at AgSmart
– in Indigenous-led Entrepreneurship and Contributions to Knowledge, announced at the ERP BBQ by community builders from Alberta Innovates and provincial entrepreneurial companies.
Congratulations to all the finalists announced to date – with more to come throughout August!
In addition – Technology Alberta was so very pleased to announce the official launch of the TechBOOST Program – funded by Alberta Innovates through the EDP Program, with additional support provided by PrairiesCan and Government of Alberta Jobs Economy and Trade. Reminder to all Companies interested in program participation – Info Session is on August 15, program registration deadline is August 21.
Also more congratulations go out to our Edmonton Research Park BBQ co-hosts – Park Steward API, ERPBC, and ERIN (supported by Alberta Innovates) – for such a successful annual event! 120 people were registered, but 130 people attended – which is a sign on what this community understands very well – no one is turned away. Also, that organizer and ERPBC President (and Technology Alberta Board Member) Ahmad Jawad knows very well – that the Way to a Community’s Heart – is through great food and great company.
So thank you again community – for showing up, and showing you care – as you host us all, across Alberta!
See you soon!
