What our Tech Companies Need – Bring your “A” Game!
The Tech sector is fast-paced, changing all the time, and very competitive. It is a race to market, and to get there before funds run out for product development and marketing.
What do Alberta tech companies need from talent? What Technology Alberta has heard consistently from the hundreds of SMB (small-to-medium-sized businesses) we interact with throughout the year is..
The answer is simple:
- Don’t just be an Employee, Be part of a Team. And be Productive
- And the same is true of Companies, Be Part of the Community. And Contribute.
Wherever you are, whatever you do – show up and make a difference. Alberta’s Tech Community is counting on you. Many companies have an option to work hybrid now, but whatever you choose – make a point of bringing in your “A” Game.
Out-of-sight is not out-of-mind for your employer, and if your fellow team members don’t hear from you – no one knows whether your work is being done, which can make you an unreliable performer, and important responsibilities may not be given to you. So Communicate, Show Up in Person (if and when you can), and don’t just be an Employee – be Part of a Team.
Out-of-sight can be out-of-mind for your company. Don’t be invisible, as your community wants to support you – so come out and tell your story, and help us all tell your story!
Community Opportunities – A “Shout out” to join us! Wednesday’s are Alberta’s downtown Community Coffees – so in Calgary join us at OLL, and in Edmonton join us at Edmonton Unlimited. We are so excited that Raj, Executive Director of NABI (St. Albert), and Steve of Kinetisense (Medicine Hat) will be there.
So Bring your “A” Game everyone, after all this is Alberta – and this is how we do it!
See you soon,
Gail
