President’s Note |
Starting off the New Year Right.. Seeing Alberta Happy New Year Alberta Innovation Community!! What a great opportunity to relax, refresh, and restart! Re-energized – the Technology Alberta team is very excited to start the New Year off right, and meet with more of Alberta’s Innovation Community – from West to North East: Looking West to Hinton/Jasper: Congratulations to New Mayor Nick Nisson. Newly elected Mayor Nick Nissen continues to add to his adventures – which has already ranged from being a Search and Rescue service veteran to a Computing Science AI Student at the University of Alberta. Nick has shown community leadership wherever he goes, including being a past volunteer with Technology Alberta. Nick campaigned on Hinton’s exceptional qualities, and underscored the importance of fostering an environment where various sectors, including business, industry, government, non-profits, and arts and culture, can flourish. See you soon Nick at Jasper in January! To the SouthEast: Visiting Medicine Hat College with Alberta Innovates, and presenting the ASTech Award for Regional Innovation at APEX Southeast Alberta‘s Tech Night. It will be our honor to join this monthly session on Jan 31 – with Medicine Hat hosting our first “on location” ASTech Award presentation. Congratulations again to ASTech Award-winner and the evening’s featured entrepreneur Melissa Hozack of TruMe Whole Health. We are looking forward to tours of the college, and the crowd at the monthly Tech Night – for networking, food and fun. Thank you APEX Team! Happy New Year Everyone – and see you soon, |
