Lethbridge – Come for the Welcome, Stay for the Innovation
Lethbridge’s annual Whoop-Up Days Fair (Aug 22-26) was a central spot to connect with the local community. Together with Alberta Innovates’ RIN (Regional Innovation Network) partners, RINSA – we shared information on Alberta’s exciting and growing tech sector – and opportunities for Alberta’s students to participate by working for Entrepreneurial Technology Companies through programs like Technology Alberta FIRST Jobs.
RINSA members are the best hosts! Thank you all for the tours – and of special note are:
- University of Lethbridge, one of the most beautiful universities in Canada. Set in such scenic surroundings, it seemed like every room had an amazing view. Their entrepreneurs continued to inspire -we heard from Dr. Luc Roberts, of Blue Sky Analytical on their collaborations in the shared lab spaces – and how they already had FIRST Jobs students.
- and then next up was the famous Mike McCready, Applied Research Chair in AR/VR at Lethbridge College. His team’s passion in XR and commitment to supporting companies and students led to an extended tour.
So come to Lethbridge for the warm Alberta RIN welcome, and stay for the Innovation – like so many have in this city. Shout out for their September event – STEM Fusion: Exploring Emerging Technology.
Technology Alberta is very pleased to work with Lethbridge’s innovation community – collaborating to provide 10 FIRST Jobs Supported Positions for each of University of Lethbridge and Lethbridge College. Many thanks to Charlee and the entire RINSA Team, we look forward to seeing you in September.
