Bringing Science and Technology (and Community) Together
Yes. it has been another great week for Alberta’s Innovation Community!
Congratulations on a great October Startup Week in Edmonton, and looking forward to a great November Innovation Week in Calgary!
– 70 events were rolled out over the week, well done Edmonton Unlimited and the many partners!
– Technology Alberta hosted an outstanding panel of growing tech companies: Nanostics, Dark Horse Analytics and Emergency, and RunwithIT
– Technology Alberta was on the Launch Party Judging Panel (Congrats Sam Jenkins with Standard Field Systems, and CarePal)
What I Learned: By bringing Science and Technology Together, we can do such amazing things! Nanostics is doing just that – saving lives by bringing cancer medical researchers together with AI Data Scientists. And as stated on their website, “success is possible through the support of the many collaborators, funders, and partners”. This is how Alberta builds tech companies – this is how we do it here! Research-intensive universities can be the hub for attracting and generating the talent, and providing the facilities, for great start-up companies to grow.
This brings even more meaning to the ASTech Awards – the Alberta Science, Technology, and Leadership Awards, that not only brings the Science, Technology, and Leadership worlds together – but also the funders and partners and collaborators across Government, Industry, Academia, and Entrepreneurship, and also across Sectors of Life Sciences, Energy, Environment, Cleantech, Digital/AI, Agriculture, Social Innovation and more. It is the “Best of All Worlds” – as together we can learn from each other, and together we can do so much more.
Join us everyone – and looking forward to seeing you at the ASTech Awards, where you can both expand your mind, as well as your networks:
– Friday, October 27, Edmonton – Grande Opening Ceremonies
– Friday, November 3, Calgary – Gala Awards Event
This is regularly a sold-out event – and this year is the very first time we are having an opportunity to meet the Finalists across 20 categories in 2 cities. Shared Success, Best of All Worlds!
See you soon everyone,
