The Technology Alberta team frequently receives invitations to speak to various groups throughout the province, both virtually and in-person, discussing careers in the tech industry within Alberta. This week, we had the opportunity to engage with a 4th Year AI Class, alongside representatives from other companies, including a Senior Developer from AltaML. The presentation sparked intrigue among the students, particularly when they learned that hundreds of tech companies in Alberta are actively seeking new talent.
How many applications does it take to obtain an Interview?

During the session, students were curious about the job application process, specifically asking how many applications it typically takes to secure an interview. Our response highlighted the value of proactive engagement: “Just one—if you attend networking events and make an effort to understand the companies. By demonstrating how you can contribute to their growth, you position yourself in a way that companies will be the ones asking for your resume.”
